Malaysia's flyGlobal eyes additional B777s for ACMI/charters

flyGlobal Charter (Kuala Lumpur Int’l) is planning to acquire a further eight B777s as it seeks to expand its presence in the ACMI/charter market.

The Malaysian charter specialist’s Chief Executive Officer, Shamini Law, said in a statement the aircraft would be inducted into flyGlobal’s fleet by 2021. At present, it operates a pair of ex-Singapore Airlines B777-200(ER)s of which one, 9M-FGA (msn 28530), was placed into service for Nesma Airlines (Saudi Arabia) (NA, Hail) on November 23. Under the contract, the twinjet will conduct Umrah flights between Kuala Lumpur Int’l and Jeddah through Nesma Airlines’ GSA in Malaysia, Alfajr Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd.

“We are very pleased to be operating our Boeing 777-200ER, 406-seater passenger capacity aircraft, on behalf of Nesma Airlines,” Law said. “flyGlobal will expand its B777 fleet to ten (10) aircraft by 2021. These aircraft will be wet-leased to various operators.”

Since being licenced by the Malaysian authorities earlier this year, flyGlobal has secured a major ACMI contract with Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) for which it operated Hajj charter flights earlier this summer.
