GOLD COAST: It rained medals for Malaysia in rhythmic gymnastics at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre here.
Koi Sie Yan (pic) bagged a silver medal in the ball apparatus with a score of 13.400 points on Friday (April 13).
Diamanto Evripidou of Cyprus took the gold with 13.800 points and Australia’s Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva took the bronze with 13.250.
Sie Yan added another silver in the clubs with a sensational performance to earn 13.850 points.
She lost out on the gold by just 0.1 point to Sophie Crane of Canada, who amassed 13.950.
Malaysia’s Amy Kwan Dict Weng also made it a good day when she rolled a bronze medal in the hoop apparatus with a score of 13.550.
It was Amy’s third medal after winning a silver in the team and a bronze in the individual all-around.
Diamanto Evripidou of Cyprus showed her prowess by winning the gold with 14.850 while Laura Halford of Wales took the silver with 14.000.
